Sophie Ryznar is an emerging Industrial Designer based out of North Vancouver, BC, with a focus in exploring textiles and wood.

As a designer, she is interested in the relationships people have with materials, and the hidden biases, social binaries, and stories different materials can hold.

Obsessed with all things board related, she gains the most inspiration from the skate and snow community, badass women breaking down gender barriers, and most importantly - play. 

Her practice is rooted and fueled by play through physical experience and making. (Like making a skate ramp for her class studio…) She is a passionate iterative prototyper, rapid sketcher, and big blue-sky thinker. 

Sophie is currently in her 4th year of Industrial Design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, working to complete her Bachelors of Design in the fall of 2026.
