Sophie Ryznar is an industrial designer based on the unceded, traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Her practice is rooted in play, curiosity, and community, fuelled by her passion for snowboarding, skateboarding, and getting outside. Sophie finds the most inspiration through physical experience - getting outside, living it, and connecting and learning through people. Her process is hands-on and spontaneous, driven by experimentation and a willingness to challenge convention, take risks, and do what is right - especially when that means taking the road less travelled.

Sophie is currently studying Industrial Design at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and will complete her studies in May 2027.
