Found Umbrella

The Material

I found this umbrella discarded on the streets on a late-night walk home in Rotterdam. I had been looking for a lightweight bag to stuff in my carry-on for an upcoming trip, and then it hit me - this was the perfect material. The most challenging part of this process was working with the shape of the original object.

Pattern Making and Production

After finding a general shape I was happy to pursue, I created a card model and made my pattern based on that. Then, I began to sew.

Sketches

After finding the material, I began sketching different shapes and forms.
