BUILD AND BOOST
Build and boost is a hands-on dig clinic made to introduce female and non-binary riders to terrain park construction with the goal of increasing womens repesentation in mountain operations. The team painted and branded the custom mailbox feature used for the initiative, that was generously donated by Arena Snowpark welder and Shredcat, Maddie McConomy. You can watch the video here to see us work on the feature, give welding a try, and talk about female representaion on the hill.
BOOTHING COMMUNITY EVENTS
Shredcatz’ presence at community events has been a super important part of what we do to make snowboarding feel more welcoming and accessible. We’re creating opportunities to connect with riders and get more girls, women, and non-binary folks on the hill. We’ve been at women in STEAM conferences like BCIT Build a Dream, to the annual Snowboarding Is So Much Fun event at Pacific Boarder and the Vancouver Ski Patrol Gear Swap & Rail Jam.
RIDE DAYS
These are the events that we are all about - ride days, where we close down the terrain park and have a Shredcatz takeover, creating a space where riders of all levels can feel safe and confident to put themselves out there and throw down. It’s also one of the biggest ways our community gets stronger - meeting girls and women of all ages who share a love of snowboarding, and making connections that can turn into lifelong friendships.
